With the valuable gifts I have been given, and the commitment to developing my skills in nursing and leadership, I now spend part of my year giving back to the community at large.

GoMed, Peru, 2023
Our team spent two weeks working in Trujillo, Peru offering free surgery to those in need. I worked in the operating room nurse completing hernia and gallbladder surgery with our international team of 24 volunteer doctors, nurses, translators, MDR and support staff.

Mercy Ships, Sierra Leone, 2024
I joined Mercy Ships to serve in Africa for four weeks working with the Maxillo-Facial team providing life-changing surgery for those in need, as well as cataract and pediatric ortho surgery.

GoMed, Peru, 2024
Now as part of the board, I organise the staff and supplies for our team. Helping to coordinate communication, travel, and surgery, I was able to return to Trujillo with our international team of 27, to once again provide free hernia and gallbladder surgery.

Mercy Ships, Sierra Leone, 2025
I am planning to return this fall to work onboard Mercy Ships, back in Africa, this time as the pediatric ortho team lead for 6 weeks.
